The Salewa North-X Axe is an ergonomic and versatile ice tool engineered for technical mountaineering, ice climbing, and glacier travel. With a hot-forged steel pick and available with an adze or hammer, this axe offers a balanced swing and precise placement on all types of rock and ice.

What truly sets the North-X apart is its unique sliding, easy-adjust hand rest. As you climb steep snow, the hand rest moves with you, promoting an energy-saving and faster ascent. On vertical rock or ice, it locks securely in place when loaded, giving you maximum support. The integrated webbing anchor leash provides fast and secure self-belaying.

The 20° offset 7075 aluminium shaft and insulated synthetic grip protect your hands from the cold on longer routes. For added safety on the descent, the axe features a replaceable steel tip instead of a traditional spike, which provides a more secure hold on rock and ice. The North-X is an axe designed for precision, comfort, and safety in challenging alpine environments.
