The Metolius Wood Grips Compact II is a mid-sizedĀ finger training board, aimed at all climbing levels and built with skin friendly wood.
Perfectly suited to those who want to be able to use the fingerboard for long training sessions or when combining with regular climbing, the Metolius Wood Grips Compact IIĀ boardĀ features skin friendly wood that is much nicer to hold than resin with thin skinned fingertips. There are ample hold options on this mid-sized board and the steps in difficulty between the holds provide a good indication to your improvement as you make steady gains. It is worth pointing out that at first the board will be quite slick, but as you begin to use it the friction will increase as chalk begins to become embedded, providing better grip and more pleasant use.
The Metolius Wood Grips Compact II is a smaller version of the Deluxe, ideal for hanging in smaller places above door frames. It is very similar in its design, though it is missing some of the smaller climbing holds. Combined with the slot nature of most of the holds, higher levels of ability may prefer to look elsewhere but otherwiseĀ this fingerboard is perfectly suitedĀ for beginners to intermediates. Its not the most cost effective option butĀ if it will see a lot of use thenĀ it's a good investment. Occasional fingerboard users may still prefer a resin board for those reasons.
