The Smart HMS carabinerĀ has a safety gate to prevent accidental cross-loadingĀ and as with the belay device is all about safety and ease of handling. A major feature is that the screw gate can only be operated when the safety gate is open, preventing accidental opening as well as unintentional twisting of the carabiner.Ā
